Services

Eureka Psychology, LLC offers individual and family therapy and testing services for children and adolescents ages 6 to 25. Dr. Austin gathers information from both parents and children and adolescents during the initial intake session to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Testing services are offered to children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 25.

Dr. Austin works with families to identify goals for therapy and uses evidence-based approaches to provide the most effective strategies for solving problems. Specifically, Dr. Austin uses techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure-based therapy, problem-solving therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and structural family systems therapy to design an effective treatment that addresses the unique needs of each child, adolescent, and family.

Individual Therapy

Services are provided one-on-one with the child or adolescent. Typical problems addressed in individual therapy are anxiety, fears, depression, emotion regulation, coping, and social skills. Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Family Therapy

Services are provided with parent(s) and their child or adolescent and may involve other members of the family as needed. Typical problems addressed in family therapy are behavioral issues, communication difficulties, conflict, and parenting concerns. Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Psychological Testing

Evaluations are provided to better understand psychological difficulties such as ADHD, reading comprehension issues, spelling problems, executive functioning difficulties, learning problems, and memory issues. Testing involves a 1-hour intake session, 4-6 hours of testing, and a 1-hour results meeting with a comprehensive report with individualized recommendations. Psychological evaluations are provided to individuals ages 6-25 years old. Testing sessions are scheduled on Saturday mornings.
